Ανακοίνωση του Υπουργείου Εξωτερικών αναφορικά με πρωτοβουλία για δημιουργία ανθρωπιστικού θαλάσσιου διαδρόμου
Η Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία έχει αναπτύξει εδώ και μέρες πρωτοβουλία για δημιουργία ελεγχόμενου και βιώσιμου ανθρωπιστικού θαλάσσιου διαδρόμου για την παροχή απρόσκοπτης και ασφαλούς ανθρωπιστικής βοήθεια στη Γάζα. Την πρωτοβουλία ανακοίνωσε ο Πρόεδρος της Δημοκρατίας στο περιθώριο των εργασιών του πρόσφατου Ευρωπαϊκού Συμβουλίου.
Έχει ήδη υπάρξει σειρά επαφών με εμπλεκόμενα κράτη της περιοχής και της ΕΕ, σε ανώτατο επίπεδο, καθώς και με άλλα ενδιαφερόμενα μέρη και με διεθνείς οργανισμούς.
Οι παράμετροι της πρωτοβουλίας και ο υπό διαμόρφωση σχεδιασμός της έχουν τύχει θετικής ανταπόκρισης και έχουν περάσει στο επόμενο στάδιο.
Οι διαβουλεύσεις επί τούτου συνεχίζονται τόσο στη Λευκωσία όσο και μέσω των συνεχιζόμενων επαφών του Υπουργού Εξωτερικών με χώρες της περιοχής.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs announcement regarding the initiative for the establishment of a humanitarian sea corridor
The Republic of Cyprus has developed an initiative to establish a controlled and sustainable humanitarian sea corridor in order to provide unhindered and safe humanitarian help to Gaza. The President of the Republic announced the initiative on the sidelines of the recent European Council’s summit.
There have already been a series of contacts between the states involved in the area and the European Union (EU), at the highest level, as well as between other interested parties and international organisations.
The parameters of our initiative and its planning that is under study have been positively received and we have proceeded to the next stage.
Consultations on the matter continue both in Lefkosia and through the continuous contacts of the Minister of Foreign Affairs with the countries in the region.
