URGENT INFORMATION FOR PERSONS SEEKING TO RETURN TO CYPRUS

Urgent information for persons seeking to return to Cyprus
 
Starting on March 21st at 3am (Cyprus Local Time) and for a period of 14 days, all flights from 28 countries, including the UK, to Larnaca and Paphos (except cargo flights) will be banned.
The Minister of Health announced this evening (17/03/2020) that the previous requirement that a medical certificate (Coronavirus/COVID-19) is needed for individuals who want to enter Cyprus will remain in force until March 21st at 3am.
Exceptions to this requirement shall apply to:
a)      individuals who travelled abroad for medical reasons
b)     individuals who travelled for a short stay for business or professional purposes and
c)      individuals who are entitled to enter on the basis of the Vienna Convention.
Individuals who travelled abroad for medical reasons may be accompanied by those who travelled and stayed with them during their treatment.
For those mentioned in the above categories, instead of presenting the medical certificate, they will need to present relevant evidence such as outbound ticket, certificate from the medical centre where they had treatment and any other relevant supporting documentation for the purpose of their trip.
All passengers entering the Republic of Cyprus will be placed in quarantine for 14 days from the day of their arrival in areas designated by the State, except for persons who travelled abroad for medical reasons. These persons will, instead, confine themselves at home to continue their treatment.
From March 21st at 3am (Cyprus Local Time) and only in the event that it is considered necessary to transport those individuals listed in a, b and c above, the Republic will proceed with chartering special flights from London and Athens.
